Research Focus
My research work is driven by three aims: (i) to contribute to knowledge-building (Science); (ii) to contribute to problem-solving (Engineering); and (iii) to teach and pass on knowledge (Legacy). I have chosen to focus my attentions on searching for alternative means of treating human disease and disability. This is embodied in three projects: (i) the development of personalised artificial cells for membrane studies and disease treatment; (ii) the development of personalised cytoplasts for rescuing or augmenting cell function in pathological conditions; and (iii) the development of decoy artificial cells for targeted drug delivery and pathogen interference.
